Paris, además de ser la capital de Francia, es la segunda ciudad más grande de Europa, tras Londres y una de mis debilidades. No en vano, creo que la habré visitado más de 30 veces, sin exagerar, ya perdí la cuenta hace tiempo … Fue el pasado mes de Octubre de regreso a mi residencia actual, la isla de Djerba en Túnez, de donde estoy preparando alguna que otra review.

Llegue en avión al alba de Vueling, para mí una de las mejores compañías de bajo coste europeas, tanto por puntualidad, atención, amabilidad, educación, etc…nada que ver con la desastrosa aunque casi siempre barata compañía irlandesa, la cual trato de evitar siempre que puedo. Aterricé en el aeropuerto de Charles de Gaulle, desde el cual, lo mejor es coger el tren RER, que por 10 Euros, te deja en el centro de Paris en una estación de metro bien conectada. Eso sí, cuidadito con vuestras pertenencias y maletas de mano; es bastante fácil que alguien se apodere de ella sin que os deis cuenta, hay mucho pícaro pululando por esos trenes y lo digo por propia experiencia, lamentablemente…

I arrived by Vueling plane at the dawn, for me one of the best european low-cost companies, both for punctuality, attention, kindness, education, etc … nothing to do with the disastrous but almost always cheap irish company, which I try to avoid always that I can. I landed at the Charles de Gaulle airport, from which, it is best to take the RER train, which for 10 Euros, leaves you in the center of Paris at a well connected metro station. Of course, be careful with your belongings and suitcases; It is quite easy for someone to seize it without you noticing, there is a lot of rogue swarming in those trains and I say it from my own experience, unfortunately …

Esta vez me hospedé en un apartamento muy curioso en la isla de Saint-Louis, del cual tenéis toda la información aquí. La zona me gusta mucho, está cerca de la Catedral de Notre Dame, que tras el incendio del pasado 15 de Abril, tenía muchas ganas de volver a ver y aunque se destruyó gran parte, ha quedado en pie mucho más de lo que me esperaba, pero solo es posible observarla de lejos debido a los trabajos de restauración, que dicen duraran al menos 5 largos años.

I like the area so much, it is near the Notre Dame Cathedral, which after the fire of April 15, I really wanted to see again and although much of it was destroyed, it has remained much more standing than I expected , but it is only possible to observe it from afar due to the restoration work, which they say will last at least 5 long years.

Hizo buen tiempo la mayor parte del viaje y me acerque dando un paseo a los Jardines de Luxemburgo, uno de mis lugares favoritos de París, donde me gusta pasear, y sentarme a solas a leer y disfrutar del sol en esta época del año, observar la gran cantidad de parisinos que vienen también atraídos con el buen tiempo, además de los siempre inevitables turistas, aunque no es de los lugares más concurridos de París.

It was good weather for most of the trip and I went for a walk to the Luxembourg Gardens, one of my favorite places in Paris, where I like to walk, and sit alone to read and enjoy the sun at this time of year, observe the large number of parisians who are also attracted by the good weather, in addition to the always inevitable tourists, although it is not one of the busiest places in Paris.

Me gusta ir dando un paseo por el barrio de Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a través del cual pude ver un mercado con muchísimos productos locales, lleno de puestecillos de quesos, foie-gras, ostras, marisco y flores, siempre flores.

I like to go for a walk in the neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, through which I could see a market with many local products, full of stalls of cheese, foie gras, oysters, seafood and flowers, always flowers.

También me dio tiempo a acercarme a la tienda de calcetines Mes Chaussettes Rouges cerca de la Torre Eiffel que es una maravilla.

Y ya al caer la noche, tenía una invitación para el Bateaux-Mouches, barco turístico de paseos sobre el río Sena que atraca junto a la Torre Eiffel y como hacía años que no me subía (desde la primera vez que fui a París con solo 11 años) pues me decidí a cogerlo. Y a pesar de las colas, los innumerables turistas, las fotos y el frío y que esta vez era de noche (lo recomiendo más de día), pues pasé un rato agradable y en una horita de trayecto, te hace un recorrido bastante amplio por París a lo largo del río Sena y recordé la serie Vikingos con esos locos del norte de Europa llegando en sus barcos de madera a la conquista de París.

And despite the queues, the countless tourists, the photos and the cold and that this time it was night (I recommend it more during the day), I had a nice time and in a one hour more or less, it makes you a fairly wide journey through Paris along the Seine River and I remembered the Vikings series with those crazy people from northern Europe arriving on their wooden boats to conquer Paris.

A la mañana siguiente tenía algo de tiempo hasta la hora de mi vuelo y decidí visitar uno de los pocos lugares que me faltaban por conocer de París, el Museo Picasso. No quedaba lejos, pues está en el sofisticado barrio Le Marais y a escasos 15 minutos a pie de mi apartamento. Es pequeñito, nada que ver con el Louvre, (había una exposición sobre Leonardo Da Vinci, pero no quedaban entradas, una pena) y se recorre en 1-2 horas si no vas con prisas, la entrada cuesta 14 euros y no había muchos turistas y eso que era Sábado. Y aunque me pareció interesante, entre que no soy un entendido en la materia y mucho menos del estilo de Picasso y que no reconocí ningún gran cuadro de esos que siempre recordamos de los libros de arte del colegio, pues salí un pelín desencantado. Pero la visita merece la pena si te gusta la pintura y la escultura en general.

It was not far, as it is in the sophisticated Le Marais neighborhood and just 15 minutes walking from my apartment. It is tiny, nothing to do with the Louvre, (there was an exhibition about Leonardo Da Vinci, but there were no tickets left, a shame) and it runs in 1-2 hours if you are not in a hurry, the ticket costs 14 euros and there were not many tourists even being Saturday. And although I found it interesting, between that I am not an expert in the matter and much less of the style of Picasso and that I did not recognize any great picture of those that we always remember from the art books at the school, I left a disenchanted tad. But the visit is worth it if you like painting and sculpture in general.

Para terminar me fui a comer de nuevo dando un paseo a Saint Germain al León de Bruselas, conocida franquicia con 6 restaurantes actualmente en París, donde la especialidad son los mejillones acompañados de patatas fritas, que los hay de todas las clases y sabores y su precio, no solo por ser París, es bastante comedido.

Finally I went to eat again taking a walk to Saint Germain to the Lion of Brussels, known franchise with 6 restaurants currently in Paris, where the specialty is mussels accompanied by fried potatoes, which are of all kinds and flavors and the Price, not only for being Paris, is quite restrained.
